There’s a shock. Still, how much more does that clown have to do to merit being impeached and thrown out on his ass? Nixon was impeached and forced to resign for doing things which wouldn’t even register on the Trump radar in any given week, much less a year and a half of his Presidency.
Trump’s disgrace is only matched by the gutless, pathetic excuse for a Constitutional oversight and check that is true of every member of the Republican Congress.
Of all the myriad number of things which should be considered shocking, appalling, grotesque … you fill in the appropriate adjective … this incident with the Postmaster General provides an eminently clear insight into what is so genuinely frightening about this man.
Any other human being, politician or otherwise, would have a basic Spidey sense that tells them something very important. Even if someone was pervertedly inclined to think about doing so in the first place, blatently trying to use an arm of the federal government to take revenge upon a perceived enemy is not just wrong, it is also incredibly obvious and stupid.
Even Nixon knew in his heart-of-hearts (given the nature of that individual, probably a poor choice of words) that his enemy’s list was wrong, and would be clearly seen as such by anyone with half a brain. So at least he had the sense to try and keep it quiet. With credit to John Dean, that thankfully didn’t work out very well. But the bottom line, I think we may agree that Nixon knew if anyone found out about his enemy’s list, it would be seen for exactly what it was.
Trump has no clue whatsoever. He sees and truly believes that anything he does is perfectly fine because he was elected President. Who are mere mortals to question that to which he believes he is uniquely entitled?
THAT is the profound danger of the man, and likewise of the millions of lemmings who continue to allow him to get away with it.
