I began training to be a volunteer greeter at the Albuquerque BioPark in late February of 2017. The BioPark consists of four separate entities – the Rio Grande Zoo, the Aquarium, the Botanical Garden (which includes a Japanese Garden) and what is known as Tingley Beach – from which locals have three maintained and stocked ponds in which to fish.
My intention is to also take 12 weeks (one evening per week) of training beginning in August of 2017, to become a docent for the Zoo. That will open up many more potential areas in which to volunteer including the opportunity to eventually travel to schools around the state of New Mexico and tell them about the work of the BioPark.
There will be pictures and much more coming in the future for this.
