I took this picture on the east side of the island of Cozumel when Deborah and I vacationed near the Mexican riviera in 2008. This is one of my favorite pictures primarily because of the picture’s composition.
We stayed on the Greek island of Santorini for three days. I looked for the location where the iconic Santorini postcard was taken … only to eventually find it not far at all from where we were staying.
While travelling on the Greek mainland in 2009, we found this location in north-central Greece called Meteora. It is truly a unique area – with monastaries built upon numerous rock outcroppings, many high in the air. To think of building these even today, with modern machinery, helicopters, etc. is a challenging idea in itself. But to realize that these were built by monks in the 14th century – that is mind blowing.
Deborah and I traveled to Greece in 2009 and there were many memorable pictures, a few of which I will include in this section. I particularly liked this sunset picture taken while on Myconos. You can see the windmills behind the buildings. Note the reflection off of the car roof at the bottom left of the picture.
