The Artwork of Deborah Bentley – Updated April 2020

This post is an update of a post which was first made back in March of 2018.  This post has now been updated to include most of Deborah’s recent artwork.  These include a new category of art which has captured Deborah’s interest – Color Popping.  This is a method of highlighting elements of her painting on silk, so that individual elements of the paintings stand out.  In addition to creating much new art, Deborah has also updated many of her older paintings to utilize this technique.

Please click on the link that follows in order to display an interactive PDF (All DBently Art 2020) containing most of Deborah’s art created over the past 20+ years.

  • The display will begin at the PDF Main Menu.  You may either scroll down through all of the artwork slides, or you may click on a picture on the Main Menu to jump right to the display of the group of art associated with that picture.

Picture groups include …

  • Floral
  • Introducting Color Pops (New)
  • Watercolors
  • Travelogue Series
  • People
  • Other Silk Paintings

DMB Artwork - TootsFinally, since I am the one writing this intro, I will take the liberty to highlight one of my special favorites that Deborah painted just for me, not long after we met I think.  It is of one of my favorite musical artists – Belgian Jean “Toots” Thielemanns.  Toots was the premier jazz harmonica player of our time.  I was fortunate enough to have seen and heard him perform in person on a number of occasions.  Toots died in 2016 at the age of 94.

Two of my favorite works of Toots are from the soundtracks of Hollywood movies – the theme from Midnight Cowboy (1969) and Nice to be Around from Cinderella Liberty (1973).  Here are links to both of those songs.

    1. Thank you for your comments, Patty. I am very proud of Deborah’s efforts, particularly with her own preferred media – silk. That is a very challenging medium and she is sharing her knowledge with many other artists here in Albuquerque.
